Linebackers

Play ZONE defense, keeping outside contain on running plays & defend short passing plays

Defensive Backs

Play ZONE defense, protecting the sideline forcing runners inside & cover WR's in your ZONE on passing plays

Safeties (S)

The Blitzing Safety (S) should get to the Quarterback (QB) as fast as possible to pull the flag or disrupt the play.

The Non-Blitzing Safety should drop back to middle of the field and play ZONE while being sure to cover the deepest Wide Receiver (WR).

Blitzing can be very affective against play action as faking takes time allowing the blitzer time to disrupt the play in the backfield.

Blitzing will not be as affective against teams that hand the ball off or pass quickly.
