Linebackers (LB)

Outside Linebackers should play "Man to Man" defense by covering the Running Back (RB) that is on your side of the field. If the RB's are lined up in the middle or on the line of scrimmage, the LB's must communicate to decide which RB they are covering.

The Middle Linebacker should play ZONE

Defensive Backs (DB)

Play "Man to Man" defense by covering the Wide Receiver (WR) that is on your side of the field. If no WR is lined up on your side, follow them to the other side of the field.

Safeties (S)

Play "Man to Man" defense by covering any extra WR's or RB's that the DB's do not have covered on the line.

If one of the safeties does not have a man to cover, they should drop back to the middle of the field & play ZONE.

When there is a strong offensive player, one of the safety's should help the LB covering that strong player in Man to Man.
